Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammation that most often affects the lower end of the small intestine and the large intestine (the colon).  It causes chronic diarrhea, extreme pain, fever and sometimes rectal bleeding.  There are many Crohn’s Disease Diets, and most do not work long term.

One of the things most Crohn’s sufferers hear from their doctors is to try to figure out what foods cause flare-ups, and stop eating those foods.  Which really is not a lot of help, because for many Crohn’s sufferers, any food can start the cycle of pain and misery.

The main reason that certain foods seem to worsen Crohn’s symptoms (or any other digestive problem) is because those foods are eaten with the wrong other foods–in other words, the foods are mis-combined.

Some foods require acid enzymes for digestion, and some foods require alkaline enzymes. Eat the two types of foods in the same meal, and the enzymes cancel each other out, so your food is not digested properly. This is what we mean when we say foods are mis-combined.

Mis-combined foods cause misery from one end of the digestive tract to the other.  They cause overproduction of acid (which leads to acid reflux attacks), they result in poorly digested food which can get impacted in the colon, low nutrient absorption from your food, gas, constipation and diarrhea.

If you really want to improve your Crohn’s disease or any other digestive problem, you have to eat in a way that allows your body to comfortably digest your food without producing excess acid.   If you do this you can eat a huge variety of foods that you previously thought you couldn’t eat.

This is what happens when you eat the way “Great Taste No Pain” teaches – you get lots of delicious, easy to make meals that travel smoothly from one end of your digestive system to the other.  In fact, you’ll probably be shocked at the foods you CAN eat that you previously thought you couldn’t.  All you have to do is learn to eat them with the right other foods.  It really can be that simple.
